Oh to be a Certified Public Accountant.
This feeling will never go away. The feeling of setting a goal that seems so intimidating and lofty but you CRUSH IT. The story that you forge during your process serves as a constant reminder of your resilience. The euphoria! Party hard after you pass the CPA exams because up next is time to go to work (literally and figuratively). Understand these 3 things:
It costs to be the boss. If you’re like me when you pass you are relieved mentally AND financially. I was so tired of paying for retakes and buying supplemental study materials to be sure I’d covered every side of a concept. It’s not a cheap endeavor by ANY means. You have to pay for your license. You have to pay for professional memberships. You have to pay for continuing education. After my journey (here's what happened when I finally passed) I’m handing over my credit card proudly for my license because this is what I asked for. How dare I stare a blessing in the face and not receive it? Prepare yourself for the investment you have to make in order to practice as a Certified Public Accountant.
It’s a whole different game. You’ve stepped into a new stratosphere for opportunities. On just about every level. There's a new level of respect on your name even from non-CPAs because they know how tough the exam can be.
Pull someone else up. We know what it feels like to want that promotion and have the secret sauce to get it. Once you get it it’s like yes, I made it. Finally! Now the person who’s in the role you USED to have is wondering the same thing. Make a priority to help someone else excel on their professional journey. It can be doesn't have to be anything extravagant - a simple "thank you" or shouting somebody out for doing a great job or helping you with a project. Note that you don't have to be in a leadership position to pull someone else up.
That’s exactly why I’m taking everything I learned and sharing it with you. There’s no science to passing the CPA exam but there is definitely some art involved. It’s more than memorizing and losing sleep - it’s studying more effectively and really understanding key concepts. That's why I've taken all of my notes, tips and trick to create a CPA Exam Review Course like no other. Get on the waitlist now and be first to get early access to my course. You ready? Let's go, add your name to the list. Cheers to studying!
